Mrs. Evelyn V. (Rodenhiser) Page, a resident of Lynnfield, and formerly of Malden, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester, at the age of 98.
Evelyn was born on December 18, 1914 in Boston, one of four children of the late Howard and Lola (Arnold) Rodenhiser.Raised and educated in Malden, Evelyn worked at Nelson's Bakery for many years.She married the late Lewis M. Page on May 4, 1946 and they settled in Malden to raise a family.
She was a longtime active member of the Maplewood Baptist Church in Malden where she also sang in the choir.Mrs. Page enjoyed reading, gardening, and was an excellent seamstress.
She was the beloved wife of the late Lewis M. Page with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.Devoted mother of Lola M. Leggett and her husband Stephen of Lynnfield.Dear sister of the late Quentin, Howard, and Esther Rodenhiser.Cherished grandmother of David T. Leggett and his wife Kimberley of Lynnfield. Loving great-grandmother of Nickole, Devin, and Timothy Leggett.
Relatives and friends will honor and remember Evelyn's life by gathering at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose during visiting hours on Saturday, May 11 from 12:00 - 1:00 PM followed by her Funeral Service celebrated at 1:00 PM.Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.Gifts in Evelyn's memory may be made to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970.
