Flor M. Camargo De Chaves

Flor M. Camargo de Chaves, 88, of Beverly, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at a Beverly healthcare facility with her family by her side.

Flor was born on November 24, 1934 in Bucaramanga Colombia to Daniel Camargo and Pascuala Gil de Camargo.  She grew up and lived a good portion of her life in Bogota before settling in Boston in the 1970’s.

She married her beloved Carlos Chaves on November 27, 1954 and they shared many wonderful years together.

Flor was first and foremost a wife and mother.  She loved being home, taking care of family, cooking a delicious meal and being active.  She enjoyed good music, good food, dancing, movies, flowers, and the occasional champagne or margarita. Flor also enjoyed traveling, especially to places around New England.

Flor was a devout Catholic and she didn’t just believe, but she lived her faith every day.

Flor’s kindness, warmth, and love will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Flor was the beloved wife of the late Carlos Chaves with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.  Devoted mother of Carlos Chaves of Orlando, FL, George Chaves of Los Angeles, CA, Joseph Chaves of Stoneham, Omar Chaves and his wife Clara Del Risco of Southwest Ranches, FL, and Flor Yasmine Chaves-Salvador and her husband Wilfredo Salvador of Malden.  She is also survived by two sisters, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather in honor of Flor’s life during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Sunday, Dec. 4 from 2-6 pm, and again on Monday morning at 9am before leaving in procession to St. Joseph’s Parish, 770 Salem St., Malden for her Funeral Mass celebrated at 10am.
