Mrs. Florence H. (Munsie) Woodward of Melrose, died May 3, 2007 in the Fitch Home of Melrose. She was 106 years old and within two days of celebrating her 107th birthday.
Mrs. Woodward was born in Everett, May 5, 1900, daughter of the late Melville D. Munsie and Clara P. (MacKenzie) Munsie.
Mrs. Woodward was raised and educated in Malden, graduating from Malden High School as Valedictorian of her class. She was a long-time member of EnKa in Malden and the Old & New in Malden.She also was a member of the Melrose Garden Club, the Women's' Club of Melrose and the Republican Club.She graduated from Smith College in 1923.She worked as a bank teller for First National Bank in Malden.She was an avid bridge player and loved reading.
Florence was the beloved wife of the late John E. Woodward.Devoted mother of Ruth W. Winde of E. Greenwich, RI and thelate Joan W. Willis.Loving sister of the late Ruth Munsie and Jeanette Luke.Grandmother of Ronald H. Winde, III, Deborah Winde, Judith Winde, Pamela Blackwell, Donna Cerretani, John A. Willis and the late Martha W. Sovet.Mother-in-law of Bruce A. Willis of Malden and the late Ronald H. Winde, Jr.Aunt of John D. Luke, Jeanette Williams and Patricia L. Ransom.Also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
