Francis J. "Frank" Connell, resident of Stoneham, and formerly longtime resident of Melrose, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.He was 91.
Born in Boston on April 23, 1930, Frank is a son of the late Francis J. and Mary L. (Perkins) Connell, Sr.He graduated from Charlestown High School and served honorably in the United States Air Force.
Upon his discharge, Frank began and long and successful career at Raytheon Corporation.He settled in Melrose to raise his family.
With simple needs in life, Frank enjoyed spending time with his family.His faith unwavering, he was a longtime daily communicant at St. Mary's in Melrose, and St. Patrick's in Stoneham.
Frank was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis L. (Isinger) Connell and longtime companion of the late Helen M. Rhoades. Devoted father of Linda Connell and John M. Connell and his wife Marianne, both of Stoneham.Loving grandfather of Joseph Connell.Also survived by Helen's daughter and granddaughter, Cynthia Niven and Tessa Niven.He was predeceased by his siblings.
Relatives & friends will gather in honor of Frank's life for a visiting hour at Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Friday, Nov. 5 from 8:30-9:30am before leaving in procession to St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham for his Funeral Mass at 10:00am.Masks are kindly requested.Interment at Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
