Mr. Frank M. Amazeen, Jr., of Wakefield, died Sunday in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Bedford, after an illness. He was 86.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, N. June (Graves) Amazeen of Wakefield; his children, Frank M. Amazeen III & his wife Pamela of West Hartford, Connecticut, Cheryl Brissette & her husband David of Grantham, New Hampshire, Karen Sprowl & her husband Richard of Lowell and Ted Amazeen & his wife Joyce of Wilmington. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, many nieces & nephews. His siblings, Marian Webster, Charlotte Nickerson, Eleanor M. Mauriello and John L. Amazeen all predeceased him.
Frank was born July 8, 1920 in Arlington, a son of the late Frank M. and Carrie (Mortensen) Amazeen. He graduated from Melrose High School. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the Army Air Corps.
Mr. Amazeen owned and operated the former Amazeen Aluminum Foundry Company in Woburn for many years, retiring in 1982. He then worked for American Switch Corporation in Wakefield, retiring 2001.
Among his many hobbies he enjoyed music and was a talented piano player. He also enjoyed painting. He was a member of the Stoneham V.F.W and Wakefield Elks.
