Frederick E. "Fred" Cook, a longtime Melrose resident died on Wednesday, April 27th at his home.
Mr. Cook was bornNovember 19, 1925 in Wrentham, son of the late Horace F. Cook and Emily M. (Young) Cook. Mr. Cook was a graduate of Northeastern University with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.He went on to serve his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Fred worked for the Tucker Concrete Form Company as a Civil Engineer in Malden for 43 years. Fred was a late member of the Retired Men's Club of Wakefield and Wyoming Lodge, AF&AM, Melrose.He was very active in the Melrose Highlands Congregational Church and he was an avid gardener. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Louise T. (Tibbetts) Cook.He was the father of Susan L. Janes and her husband Blair of Burnt Hills, NY, Marcia Cook Limitone and her husband Dean of Plympton, Laurel J. Kaczmarek and her husband Bruce of Portsmouth, NH and Douglas M. Cook and his wife Amy of Andover. Fred was the brother of the late Ernest and Howard Cook and Marjorie Earle.He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Heather and Leigh Janes, Gregory, Abigail and Benjamin Cook, Daniel and Christopher Kaczmarek and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Melrose Highlands Congregational Church, 355 Franklin St., Melrose, Sunday, May 1st at 2PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE Friday 4-8 PM.
Interment will be private in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
