Galina Ragutshteyn
Galina was born in Baku, Azerbaijan on July 11, 1932, daughter of the late Mikhail Sukonkin and Klavdia (Shahmina) Sukonkina.Raised in Baku, Galina graduated from technical school and soon thereafter met her future husband, Iosif Ragutshteyn.She eloped with Iosif, married in Kazakhstan on September 4, 1952, and shared many happy years of marriage together.
Galina and Iosif worked for the local power station in the engineering field. They left work together early in the morning and returned home together many hours later. She retired at age 55, and in the mid 1990's, the family immigrated to the United States and settled in Melrose.During her spare time, Galina enjoyed sewing, cooking, and always did her best to provide for her 3 children.
She will be lovingly remembered as the beloved wife of the late Iosif Ragutshteyn with whom she shared nearly 55 years of marriage.Devoted mother of Mikhail Ragutshteyn of Malden, Larisa Baryudina and her husband Pavel of Hopkinton, and Irina Ragutshteyn of Malden. Cherished grandmother of Leonid and his wife Stephanie, Yefim, Evelina-Maria.Loving great-grandmother of Joshua Joseph Baryudin.
Relatives and friends will honor and remember Galina's life by gathering during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Sunday, March 17 from 2-6 PM and again on Monday morning where her Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11:30 AM.Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
