Mr. Gaston L. Lemoine, Jr., of Peabody and formerly a longtime resident of Lynnfield, passed away on Friday, July 30, 2010 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by his loving family.He was 87 years old.Gaston was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on November 23, 1922, the son of the late Gaston L. Lemoine and Josephine (Schroth) Lemoine.
Gaston L. Lemoine was raised and educated in Norfolk, Virginia and graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.He served his country as a pilot in the US Army Air Force during World War II, receiving a Distinguished Flying Cross Medal for his service in China, Burma, and India.For 20 years, Gaston worked for Rochester Midland Corporation as branch manager in New England.
Gaston was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Glidden) Lemoine.Cherished father of David A. Lemoine and his wife Mary Cotter-Lemoine of Natick, Elizabeth Peabody of Lynnfield, and the late John E. Lemoine.Adoring grandfather of Courtney Lemoine, David Thomas Lemoine, Caroline Lemoine, Joshua Peabody and his wife Melissa, Jessica Peabody, David J. Peabody, Michael Puleo, and Jill Lemoine.Also survived by 5 loving nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Gaston's honor at St. Agnes Church, 22 Boston St., Middleton on Wednesday, August 4 at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.Gifts in Gaston's memory may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
