George H. Schofield
He leaves his wife, Barbara S. (Shimmin) Schofield; his children, George H. Schofield IV and his wife, Marie, of Marblehead, Linda J. Brown and her husband, Kevin, of Breckenridge, Colorado, Lauren S. Emmick and her husband, Martin, of Boxford, and Robert G. Schofield of Moultonborough, New Hampshire; a sister, Susan Berkey, of Vienna, Virginia.He is also survived by six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Mr. Schofield was born November 18, 1929 in Newark, New Jersey, a son of the late George H. Jr. and Louise (Minder) Schofield.He and his wife lived many years in Erie, Pennsylvania and Schenectady, New York and in Marblehead since 1970.
He graduated from Columbia High School, Maplewood, New Jersey, and the University of Vermont in Burlington, class of 1951.
Mr. Schofield was the Chairman and C.E.O. of Zurn Industries, Erie, Pennsylvania, for over 10 years.Previously, he was Vice President and General Manager for General Electric Company's Industrial and Marine Steam Turbine Division in Lynn, Massachusetts and Area Executive for Greater Boston.
He and his wife were active in the United Way of Boston and longtime members of Salem Country Club.
