Mr. Glenn A. Perduyn, a resident of Melrose, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Mass General Hospital in Boston.He was 69 years old.

He was born on July 3, 1944 in Worcester, son of the late Glenn A. Perduyn, Edythe A. (Eisenhaur) Hanley, and stepson of the late Claude L. Hanley.Glenn was raised in Cambridge, and graduated from Cambridge Latin School, Class of 1964 where he met his future wife Claire M. Johnson.

Glenn worked in the hardware and painting industry his entire working life.He was a dedicated worker for a variety of companies including Thomas O'Connor Construction for 15 years and more recently at ColorWorks in Burlington for the last 10 years.He enjoyed waking up every morning and going to work providing painting supplies to local contractors.

A proud father and grandfather, Glenn was a family centered man.He especially loved cooking and even enjoyed doing the grocery shopping.He was an avid sports fan who loved the Red Sox and Patriots.He and Claire enjoyed attending concerts, and going to the NCAA tournament together.As a child, Glenn loved going to Canada with his family, and later in life, enjoyed family vacations to Cape Cod, and trips to Story Land in NH with his grandchildren.He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Glenn was the beloved husband of Claire M. (Johnson) Perduyn with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.Devoted father of Karen A. Perduyn and her husband Alesandro Cucci of Wakefield, Kimberly A. Perduyn of Melrose, and Glenn A. Perduyn and his wife Jennifer of Stoneham.Dear brother of Nancy J. McRae and her husband John of Tunbridge, VT.Cherished grandfather of Noelle, Lyla, and Glenn.

Relatives and friends will honor and remember Glenn's life by gathering during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Tuesday, July 16 from 4-8 PM, and again on Wednesday morning for his Funeral Service celebrated at 10 AM.Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.

Gifts in Glenn's memory may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave., #2, Norwood, MA 02062.
