Grace E. (Hubbs) Tura, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Oosterman's Rest Home in Melrose, at age 90.
She was born in Everett, one of three children of the late Clarence A. Hubbs and Rose E. (Clifford) Hubbs.
Generous with her efforts and time, Mrs. Tura regularly gave back to her community.She was a volunteer at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for 17 years, and a volunteer at Dr. Pennacchio's office for 30 years.She was a volunteer and teacher at EMARC for several years, and a member of the Green Street Baptist Church.
An avid golfer, Grace enjoyed playing at her home course, Mt. Hood in Melrose, and enjoyed many different golfing adventures with her husband George.She also enjoyed crafts, quilting, making afghans for her grandchildren, and travelling throughout the United States and abroad.
Grace was a kind person with a warm heart and generous spirit.She will be lovingly remembered by her cherished family and many friends.
Grace was the beloved wife of George L. Tura with whom she shared 70 years of marriage.Devoted mother of Janice I. Tura of Watertown, and Phyllis L. Fish of Bedford.Dear sister of the late Verna M. Fowler and Richard A. Hubbs.Cherished grandmother of Jennifer, Janine, John, Matthew, and Hillary.Loving great-grandmother of Malik, and Azariah.
Relatives and friends will gather in honor of Grace's life for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Thursday, June 26 from 4-8PM, and again on Friday morning where her Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10AM.
