Mrs. Harriet J. (Thompson) Starr of Malden died Tuesday evening October 14, 2003 in the Glenridge Nursing Care Center, Medford after a brief illness. Mrs. Starr was born in Boston, daughter of the late Albert and Annie (Nolan) Thompson. Mrs. Starr was a resident of Malden for most of her life. Mrs. Starr was a member of the Malden First Baptist Church, and avid bridge player an volunteered her time for the Florence Crittenton League and Malden YWCA. Harriet was the wife of the late Edwin H. Starr.Mother of Reverend Lawence T. Starr of Malden, Pastor of the Green Street Baptist Church in Melrose and Stephen E. Starr of Kansas City, MO. Grandmother of Lisa Starr of KS.Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service at the Green Street Baptist Church, 179 Green St. Melrose, Saturday, October 18, 2003 at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSEFriday 4-8 PM. Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Gifts in her memory may be made to the Green Street Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 179 Green St., Melrose, MA02176.
