Helen V. Anderson, a resident of Melrose and formerly of Malden, died on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at her residence. She was 80 years old.
Helen was born on September 24, 1928 in Saugus, one of three daughters of the late Gustav Anderson and Hildegarde (Hedberg) Anderson.
Miss Anderson was raised in Malden and graduated from Malden High School in 1946.She lived most of her life in Malden and for the past 7 years in Melrose.Helen worked as a secretary for several accounting firms and insurance companies and earlier for the Boston Redevelopment Authority.A longtime member of the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, she was a past Treasurer and member of the Women's Group.Helen enjoyed sewing and reading in her spare time and was a skilled organ and piano player.
Helen was the dear sister of Beatrice Munroe and her husband Frederick and Carl Anderson all of Wakefield and the late Doris Bleyle. Dear aunt of Joanne Green of Windham, NH, Edward Munroe of Kennebunk, Maine, Paul Munroe of Rowley, Alan Bleyle of Waltham, and the late Corinne Rogers.
A Private Funeral Service will be held at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose.Interment will be in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
