Jacqueline Weir, of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, who lived and worked in Boston, Massachusetts, passed away after a short illness on Thursday evening September 13, 2012 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, Massachusetts. She was 53.

Jacqueline who was born on December 14, 1958 in Jamaica, West Indies, was raised and educated in Toronto, Canada. She continued her education for many years and pursued a long and successful career in the banking industry. Jacqueline was recruited by New York Mellon Bank to come to Boston as Audit Manager and Vice President. A strong and independent woman, she loved to travel and her greatest love was attending her son Dwight's basketball games and watching him develop into a rising basketball star at Stanford University.

Jacqueline is survived by her loving parents Rupert Weir and Daphne Davis, step-mother Louise; her beloved son Dwight Powell and his father Harlan.She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Michael Weir, Trevor Weir, Collette Steeighes, Valerie Martinez, Charmaine Campbell, Edwin Dawes, Jo Manderson, Janet Chudeau and Yvette Gladstone; her cousins Yvonne King-Witter and her husband Lauriston, Jean Lewis and her husband of Eugene.Her dear aunts Lois Miller and her husband Keith,Geneva Weir and Aileen (Joyce) Phillips; her dear uncles Meremoth Weir, Kenneth Weir and Garnett Weir.She is also survived by numerous cousins, extended family, friends and colleagues.

Relatives and friends will honor and remember Jacqueline's life by gathering privately at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, Massachusetts. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Toronto, Canada.
