Mr. James R. Doucette, 67 of Melrose died Friday January 23, 2004 at home after a brief illness. James was born January 26, 1936 in Chelsea, son of the late John and Mary (DeGerski) Doucette.
Mr. Doucette was born in Chelsea and was raised in Chelsea and Revere. He was a resident of Melrose for 40 years. He had previously resided in Malden and Everett. James worked for many years in the Parts Department for Cote Motors and then for Dave Dinger Ford for more than 20 years before retiring in 2000.
Mr. Doucette enjoyed spending time and vacationing with his family and friends.
James was the husband of Sally J. (Ellis) Doucette with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.Father of Cheryl M. Cerretani and her husband Steven of North Andover, James R. Doucette, Jr. of Everett, Edward A. Doucette and his wife Diane of Wakefield, Margaret A. Haley of Alton Bay, NH., Lisa A. Smith and her husband Joseph of Wakefield and the late Mark R. Doucette.Brother of the late John Doucette and Joseph Doucette.Grandfather of Michael Haley, Jr., Sara Haley, Jennifer Sells, Benjamin, Mark and Lauren Cerretani, Bradley and Britney Smith.Great-grandfather of Nicholas Sullivan and Madison and Noah Sells.
Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE Tuesday January 27, 2004 at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours Monday 4-8 PM.
