Mrs. Janet L. (Jackson) Summers, 62 of Melrose died Friday morning, March 4, 2005 at the New England Medical Center in Boston. Janet was born Oct. 6, 1942 inPittsburgh, PA. Mrs. Summers grew up in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School.She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for 25 years at New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston.She had also worked in the billing department at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.Janet was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church,Melrose. She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of the Melrose Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #14 and also was a member of the Reading Society of Beauceant. Janet was the wife of Freeman R. "Whitey" Summers for 41 years and was the daughter of Irene (Martin) Jackson of Morgantown, WV and the late Richard E. Jackson.Mother of Jennifer LaRocque and her husband Darren of Danville, NH and James E. Summers and his wife Brigida of Lynn.Sister ofPamalia Hollenbach of Inman, SC and Susan Tarrant of Manchester, NH.Grandmother ofCody J. Summers of Lynn. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE Tuesday, March 8 at10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hoursMonday 4-8 PM.
