Jean was born in Winchester on April 14, 1943, a daughter of the late Richard R. Meuse and Rita M. (DeVeau) Meuse.She was raised and educated in Wakefield.She married Donald F. Caruso and settled in Malden where they raised their family of 5 sons.
Jean dedicated herself to helping and caring for others.She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at McFadden Manor for many years after working in Melrose at The Elmhurst for several years. She was an incredibly generous person, always giving to those less fortunate and providing help to patients in need. For many years, after a shift at the nursing home, she would rush home to take care of her own mother, Rita.
Jean enjoyed cooking, shopping, and especially loved knitting.She was a sweet person who will be remembered for always providing help and support to family, friends, and patients.
She was the beloved wife of the late Donald F. Caruso.Devoted mother of Frank Caruso of Wakefield, David D. Caruso of Wakefield, John R. Caruso of Quincy, Michael P. Caruso of Melrose, and Brian S. Caruso of Everett.Dear sister of the late Janet C. Meuse, Robert R. Meuse and sister-in-law of Barbara Fontaine of Georgetown.Cherished grandmother of Jonathan Caruso, Maureen Caruso, David Caruso, Jr., and Jenna Rose Caruso.Also survived by her dear longtime friends, Don and Sandy Moss of Danvers.
Relatives and friends will honor and remember Jean's life by gathering for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Monday, June 25, 4-8 PM and again on Tuesday where her Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:00 AM.Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
