Mrs. Jean C. (Stearns) Amadon Hall, a resident of Westborough and formerly of Sudbury and Melrose, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at the Pine Grove Health Center in Pascoag, Rhode Island.She was 83.
Jean was born on September 13, 1927 in Melrose, one of two children of the late Frederick Stearns and Luella (Pickett) Stearns.
She was raised in Melrose and graduated from Pembroke College at Brown University, Class of 1948.She and her late husband Walter Amadon moved to New York where she worked as a nursery schoolteacher in Bronxville and Chappaqua, NY.After living in Buffalo, NY for two years, they moved to Sudbury, MA where she taught at Sunny Hill Preschool and was a member of the Women's Club.
Mrs. Hall enjoyed the ocean while spending the summer months on Cape Cod.More recently, she and her husband, Walter Hall, enjoyed travelling in the Caribbean. She also loved reading, crossword puzzles, playing scrabble, cards, playing bridge and most of all, cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and family.
Jean was the beloved wife of Walter K. Hall with whom she shared 18 years and the late Walter H. Amadon with whom she shared 35 years.Devoted mother of John F. Amadon and his girlfriend Jan Franz of Berlin, VT, Susan J. Shepard and her husband Larry of Starksboro, VT, Jane A. Sheehan and her husband Neil of Sumter, SC.Loving stepmother of Heather Hall of Hurley, NY, Alan Hall and his wife Katie of Orrs Island, ME, and Kristin Hall and her partner Beth Harvey-Forsythe of Acton.Dear sister of the late Frederick Stearns.Cherished grandmother of Jacob Amadon, Katie Amadon, Nathan Shepard, Michael Shepard and his wife Erin Buckwalter, Abby Shepard and her fiance Clement Pallison, Matthew Sheehan, Keri Sheehan, Aaron Drummond and his wife Pamela, Danielle Hall, Gabrielle Hall, and Brendan Donohue. Loving great grandmother of Savannah, Caroline, Samantha, Abbey, Beatrix and Tilly.
