Jean M. Pietrantonio

Jean M. (Woodford) Pietrantonio, a longtime resident of Everett, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and beloved pets on Friday, April 26, 2024, at age 66.

Jean was born in Boston on April 25, 1958, one of two children of the late Gordon and Ruth M. (Doucette) Woodford. Raised in Everett, she graduated from Everett High School, serving proudly as the enthusiastic Captain of the cheerleading team. In 1980, she quite literally bumped into her future husband, Tom Pietrantonio, and they married in 1983 establishing their home in Everett to raise two daughters.

With selfless determination, Jean worked her way from receptionist to the head of Operations at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Chelsea, all while looking her best in her trademark stilettos. She was a reliable, hard-working woman who excelled at always putting her colleagues first. She was a natural and strong caretaker whose passionate support and genuine kindness touched all those around her.

In her free time, Jean loved shopping, especially hunting for bargains for her grandchildren. She lived for that week in August when her family would embark on their annual family vacation, always sure to be charged for their luggage exceeding the weight limit stuffed to the brim with months worth of outfits for herself and the kids that she gleefully purchased in the months leading up to takeoff. She loved the warmth of the sun on her skin when under a palm tree near the ocean, or relaxing by the backyard pool with her grandchildren. Most of all, if family was involved, Jean was at her happiest and most fulfilled. Her devotion to family especially her mother, served as the backbone that others relied upon. She shared her love effortlessly with her cats and dogs, Toby and Gia, whose presence was felt by her side through the very end. Always dressed for the occasion and looking beautiful, Jean had an eye for style and knew what she wanted.

Full of life, Jean’s spirit lifted those around her up and her positive energy served as inspiration for her children and grandchildren. The joy in her heart, her fierce strength, and her tender care for others will remain as hallmarks of her life and serve as an example for all. She will be deeply and sorely missed, but always lovingly remembered. May she rest in eternal, loving peace.

Jean was the beloved wife of Thomas Pietrantonio with whom she shared 41 years of marriage. Devoted mother of Danielle Pietrantonio of Everett, and Heather Pietrantonio of Everett. Cherished Nana of Addison and Avery MacDonald, and Austin Lattanzi. Dear sister of Wayne G. Woodford and his wife Irene of Hampden, ME. Loving sister-in-law of William Pietrantonio and his wife Joan, Joan Amari, Gail Washington and her husband Greg, Paul Pietrantonio and his wife Ann Marie, and Peter Pietrantonio and his wife Marlene. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather in honor of Jean’s life during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Tuesday, April 30 from 4-7 pm, and on Wednesday, May 1 for her Funeral Service celebrated at 10am. Interment at Glenwood Cemetery, Everett. Gifts in Jean’s memory may be made to Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA 01970 or online at https://www.mspca.org/
