Mrs. Jeanne (Sagers) Maure, a Melrose Massachusetts resident and formerly of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, died while surrounded by her family at home on Sunday, April 24, 2011.She was 87 years of age.
Jeanne was born on November 30, 1923 in Camden, New Jersey, one of three children of the late Ernest E. Sagers and Elizabeth L. (Fasmer) Sagers.
She was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she graduated from Olney High School.She married Richard, her late husband, and they settled in Bucks County, PA to raise their family.An active member of the Bucks County community, Jeanne enjoyed her time volunteering for the Boy Scouts, 4-H, Warminster Little League Baseball, and was a 30 year member of the League of Women Voters.Mrs. Maure worked for many years as a secretary in the train manufacturing industry and had worked at the Warminster Township Library for 5 years.
After living in Pennsylvania for many years, Mrs. Maure moved to Melrose, MA where she could be closer to her loving family.She was a member of the Melrose Unitarian Universalist Church and volunteered with The Bridge for 10 years.
She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Maure.Devoted mother of Richard Maure and his wife Lydia Reichenbach of Jamaica Plain and Michele Maure and her husband William Trippe of Melrose.Dear sister of the late Phyllis Bussinger and Robert Sagers.Cherished grandmother of Alec Maure of Jamaica Plain, and Christian and Nathaniel Trippe both of Melrose.
Memorial Service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 70 W.
