Joan M. Harris
Joan was born on December 7, 1930 in Melrose, one of three children of the late Daniel Kelliher and Margaret (Turner) Kelliher.
Raised in Melrose, Joan was a graduate of Melrose High School, and the Wilson School in Boston.She worked for a brief time as an x-ray technician for the office of Dr. Louis Alfano in Melrose.
Joan was first and foremost, a devoted family woman.She cherished her husband, three daughters, and grandchildren.Every year for over 40 years, the family gathered for the holidays at the same ski house in Waterville, New Hampshire.Joan looked forward to skiing, and just spending time with everyone gathered together.
In addition to her care and love for her family, Joan loved to golf.During the summer, she enjoyed golfing at Wenham Golf Club where she was a member for many years, and during the winter she enjoyed golfing in North Palm Beach, Florida.
Above all else, she will be remembered for her care and devotion to her family.
She was the devoted wife of Roger Harris for nearly 63 years. Devoted mother of Kimberly A. Harris of Stamford CT, Wenda H. Millard and husband Jay of NYC and Stacey L. Harris of Lynnfield. Devoted grandmother of Alexandra H. Caulfield of Asheville, NC, Benjamin H. Millard of NYC, and Leigh T. Millard of Charleston, SC.Great-grandmother of Siena A. Harris Rhine of Asheville, NC. Godmother to Thomas F. McCarthy of Melrose.
Private burial at Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
