Joan M. Missick

Joan M. (Butori) Missick, of Stoneham and formerly longtime resident of Medford, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the age of 76.

Born in Brighton on November 29, 1948, Joan was one of three children of the late John and Anna (Huber) Butori. Joan grew up in Medford where she graduated from Medford High School and laid the foundation for a life characterized by love, hard work, and strong family values.

Joan dedicated her professional life to helping others, starting as an office administrator at Malden Hospital and later contributing her talents to Chapa Citizens Housing & Planning Association. Her work ethic and kindness was greatly admired and she became a staple at her workplace. Yet, it was at home-surrounded by her family-where Joan truly thrived.

A steadfast homebody, Joan cherished time spent with her daughter as well as her beloved grandchildren. She poured her heart into creating a warm and nurturing environment for those she loved, always putting family first. No matter the occasion, her unwavering support was a constant in their lives.

Joan's spirit and dedication to family will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience that will forever be remembered.

Joan was the devoted mother of Amy Hannon and her husband Chris of North Reading. Loving sister of Donna Pollard and her husband Ronald of Tewksbury and the late Linda Laidlaw. Cherished grandmother of Keely and Alana Hannon. Joan is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews

Relatives & friends are invited to gather in honor of Joan during Visiting Hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, on Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 4-7pm and again on Thursday, Jan. 30, for her Funeral Service celebrated at 10am. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
