Joanne was born March 19, 1926 in Boston, a daughter of the late William L. Orton and Grace (Murdock) Orton.
Joanne was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School.She was an active member of her community as a dental hygienist at the Houghs Neck Community Dental Clinic.She was an accomplished ice skater and an avid swimmer.Mrs. Towle loved to travel and did so extensively.Most of all she loved the ocean, gardening, her home and her loving neighborsShe will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Joanne was the beloved wife of the late Harry P. Towle with whom she shared55 years of marriage.Devoted mother of Harry P. Towle Jr. and his wife, Theresa of Malden and William O. Towle and his wife, Veronica of Rancho Murieta, CA. Dear sister of the late Priscilla O. Pearson. Cherished grandmother of Harry P. Towle III of Weymouth, Tavey Leigh Tierney and Jason B. Tierney both of Quincy, Susan Marie Towle of Weymouth and Tracie DelGreco of Braintree. Cherished great-grandmother of Victoria Homan of Braintree.
