John J. Leblanc

John J. LeBlanc, a resident of Melrose, passed away unexpectedly at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at age 62.

John was born in Everett on September 24, 1956, and raised in Everett and Malden. He graduated from Malden High School, and from Technical School in Woburn. He worked as an appliance technician for many years. For the past 20 years, he was a dedicated, and well respected employee of Coinmach serving institutions and customers throughout the Boston area.

After a chance meeting at a local bowling league, John and Suzan Kinch were married on January 1, 1994. Four years later, they settled in Melrose and welcomed the birth of son, Jared. When Jared was born, John's life changed immediately. He centered his life around Jared's, sharing his love and passions with his son, and they became each other's best friend.

Besides his wife and son, John's most well known passion in life was food. He loved the joy of discovering a new restaurant, trying new food, and sharing his delight with his family. With John, every meal or new restaurant was "the best he'd ever had."He shared his love for food by cooking, enjoying a good craft beer, or getting his family members together to try a new restaurant.

A fun loving guy, John had a gift for storytelling, even when embellished a little. He loved to make people laugh with his sense of humor or a quick pun. He enjoyed talking with his customers while on the job, or sharing a story with his neighbors.

A skilled technician by trade, John could fix anything, and often generously shared his knowledge and help with his friends and neighbors. He enjoyed being a part of the neighborhood, and assisting with any projects. In his free time, John enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida or Myrtle Beach with Suzan and Jared. He also had a love for the 1970's Boston sports teams and a deep connection to the classic rock music of the 1970's.

John set a prime example of how to live life. He had a strong work ethic, loved his family, and treated everyone with respect and kindness. He believed in these values whole heartedly and imparted them onto his son taking every opportunity to teach him. He shared himself and his love freely, and he was beloved in return by all who knew him. He will be deeply and sorely missed, but his impact will live on in the hearts and minds of his family.

John was the beloved husband of Suzan (Kinch) LeBlanc with whom he shared 25 years of marriage.Proud father of Jared M. LeBlanc of Melrose. Cherished son of Helen (Cotter) LeBlanc of Somerville and the late Arthur LeBlanc. Caring brother of Elaine Frattaroli and her husband Tony of E.
