John H. Oatis

John H. Oatis, a long time resident of Melrose, died at home on Wednesday afternoon November 16, 2005 at the age of 64. John was born in Brighton February 10, 1941, son of the late John H. Oatis and Ruth (Ward) Oatis. John graduated from Boston University and was a computer programmer for Nynex and Verizon for many years.He was a horse racing enthusiast and served in the Army during Vietnam. John was the former husband of MaryLou (Manning) Oatis. Loving father of John H. Oatis III and his wife Heather of Northbridge, Christopher Oatis of Revere, Mark Laben of Wakefield and Lauren Belcher of North Smithfield, RI. Devoted brother of Diane O. Curran of Salem, William W. Oatis of Wilmington and the late Peter Oatis.Grandfather of James J. Oatis of Northbridge. Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main Street, MELROSE, Saturday, Nov. 19 at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours Friday 4-8PM. Interment will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
