Mrs. Joyce (Hayward) Innis, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, at the age of 85.
Joyce was born on May 17, 1926 in Boston, a daughter of the late Charles and Viola (Anderson) Peacock.She was raised and educated in Everett where she graduated from high school.She worked as a hairdresser for many years.
A food lover, Joyce loved going out for dinner and baking butter "Spritz" cookies.She was active at the Milano Senior Center, loved the Melrose Symphony Orchestra, and was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church.She loved playing bingo, cards, and never missed her favorite Saturday night Bean Suppers.
Beloved wife of the late Mark M. Innis.Dear sister of the late Dora Cramb, Florence Rollins, and Charles Peacock.Also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends will honor and remember Joyce's life by gathering for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Tuesday, March 13 from 4-8 PM and on Wednesday morning at the First United Methodist Church, 645 Main St., Melrose where her Funeral Service will be celebrated at 9:00 AM.Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
