Mr. Judson I. Humes, a longtime resident of Melrose, died March 4, 2009 at the Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford following a period of declining health.He was 90 years of age.

Judson was born on February 2, 1919 in Seekonk, MA, one of four boys to Edwin Humes and Agnes (Gillis) Humes.

Mr. Humes graduated from Wentworth Institute and served in the US Army during WWII.For 43 years, he worked for General Electric as a draftsman in the Aircraft Division at the River Works plant in Lynn.He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church and loved oil painting and sketching.

He was the beloved husband of Genevieve E. "Gen" (Mott) Humes with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. Loving father of Jonathan C. Humes and his wife Ellie of Melrose and Lindsey V. Humes of Melrose.Dear brother of Edwin Humes of Foxboro and the late Norman and Arthur Humes.Cherished grandfather of Adam C. Humes of Melrose.Dear uncle of Nancy Erickson, Melissa Mott, Kristin Mott, Hannah Mott and Nicholas Mott.

Funeral Service at the First Baptist Church, 561 Main St., Melrose on Saturday, March 7 at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE on Friday from 4 - 8 PM.Interment in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
