Keith Daly, of Malden, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 peacefully in his home at the age of 74.
Born in Somerville on July 10, 1940, he was the son of the late Albert J. Daly and Pauline A. (Moran) Daly. Keith was raised in Somerville, MA, Westwood, NJ and Melrose, MA and attended Melrose High School.
After proudly serving his country in the US Army, he became accomplished in the field of optics. His work contributed to cameras on the Air Force operated U-2 aircraft which secured clear photographic evidence of missiles in Cuba in 1962. During the 1970's, he contributed to the development of the world's first projection televisions. He finished his career as an accomplished carpenter and general contractor. He was a lover of nature and animals.
Keith was devoted to his children. He will always be remembered for making people feel special and valued. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who had a great sense of humor and was known for his generosity. His family and friends will miss him dearly as will his beloved dog, Poki.
Keith was the loving father of Keith L. Daly and his wife Maurine of Shrewsbury, Kim A. Daly of Winchester, and Johnna K. Daly of Chelmsford. He was the former husband of the late Karen A. (Wadman) Daly. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Keith and Brenna Daly of Shrewsbury along with his many nieces and nephews.
Keith is survived by two sisters, Barbara (Daly) Mikalowsky of Melrose, and Janice (Daly) Megyesy of Newbury, as well as his brother, Stephen Daly of Hartland, VT. He is predeceased by two brothers, Albert J. Daly and Paul W. Daly.
Relatives and friends will gather at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St., Peabody for a Graveside Service on Tuesday, July 29 at 11AM.
