Kenneth K. Lacey, a resident of Manchester, NH and formerly of Derry, NH, passed away after a brief hospitalization surrounded by family on Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH. He was 57.
Ken was born in Melrose on October 16, 1958, one of three sons of the late Malcolm and N. Pauline (Jupp) Lacey. He was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1976.He received training to operate tractor trailers, and for many years was employed as a truck driver for NEMF.
Kenny was a free spirit who loved riding his motorcycle and working on his Mustang GT. From the young age of 10, he was riding a mini-bike on the streets of Melrose, riding a dirt-bike through the fields of Gilford, New Hampshire, and later in life taught himself how to do small engine repairs. He learned by taking everything apart, and trying to put it back together, sometimes more successfully than others. Motorcycles were a lifelong passion of Kenny's. He made many friendships along the way, and enjoyed motorcycle trips with his buddies around New England. An independent guy, Kenny was happiest out on the open road just as his trademark license plate said, "C+YA." He will be missed.
Kenny was the loving son of the late Malcolm Lacey, Pauline (Jupp) Lacey, and step-son of Frances (Smith) Lacey of Lynnfield. Beloved brother of David J. Lacey and his wife Kathleen of Melrose, and James M. Lacey and his wife Katherine of Stoneham. Uncle of Michelle Valarezo of N. Andover, and Michael Lacey of Reading.
