Kevin J. Sheehan, a resident of Everett, formerly of Arlington, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2019, at the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center in Revere, at age 69.
Kevin was born in Cambridge on March 31, 1950, son of the late Edward M. Sheehan and Lillian M. (Tobin) Sheehan.He was raised in Arlington. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for over 30 years in the construction industry, specializing in the operation of frontend loaders and backhoes.Most recently, he was a valued employee of Vittiglio Construction Co. in Wilmington.
In his free time, Kevin enjoyed traveling anywhere with Carol.An ocean lover, Kevin loved visiting the coast of Maine, walking the beach, and taking in the salt air.They shared many laughs and made many memories.Back home, Kevin had a love for gardening and took pride in maintaining the grass and flowers.He also enjoyed supporting the Boston sports teams, and cooking a good meal.
With a loud booming voice and a kind, gentle heart, Kevin was well known and well liked wherever he went.He was always offering to help a neighbor or friend with a project.He built connections with everyone through sharing a story or a laugh, and treated everyone with appropriate respect.With a soft spot for the elderly, Kevin was ready and willing to help when needed.
Kevin will be deeply missed, but lovingly remembered for his love of his Irish heritage, and his kind, giving heart.
Kevin was the loving companion of 30 years to Carol (Marshall) Arlington of Everett. Dear father of Kevin Sheehan Jr. and his wife Kristine of Burlington, Jennifer McLellan of Woburn, Brian Sheehan and his wife Kerry of Medford. Also survived by Carol's children, Christine Wisniewski and her husband Ken of Everett, Cheryl Arlington of Medford, and Michael Arlington of Everett. Caring brother of the late Edward Sheehan and his surviving wife Elaine of Stow. Kevin also leaves spouse Margaret Sheehan of Arlington, eight grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends will gather in honor of Kevin's life at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Thursday, April 11 from 4-8pm, and again for his Funeral Service celebrated on Friday at 10am. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
