Lauraine M. (Desjardins) Blanchard
She was born on February 8, 1928 in Lynn, the daughter of the late Edward Desjardins and Georgette (LaPierre) Desjardins.
Lauraine met her husband Arthur while working as a bank teller in Winthrop, Maine.They married and moved to Melrose where they settled to raise two children, Anne and Edward.Lauraine stayed at home with her family, and later worked at Sears in Saugus for several years. In her spare time, Lauraine enjoyed working in her yard.She loved taking care of her flowers, and her rock garden.
Lauraine was the beloved wife of the late Arthur H. Blanchard with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.Devoted mother of Anne Bartlett and her late husband Jack of Port Richey, FL, and Edward A. Blanchard of Melrose.Cherished grandmother of Kirk Welch of New Port Richey, FL, and Erica Parker of Port Richey, FL.Loving great-grandmother of Zachary, Zoey, Ian, Joshua, and Justin.
Relatives and friends will honor and remember Lauraine's life by gathering for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Friday, October 11 from 4-8 PM and again on Saturday morning at 8:00 AM before leaving in procession to St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM.Interment in Glenside Cemetery, Winthrop, ME.
