Larry E. Day

Laurence E. "Larry" Day, a resident of Wakefield and Plaistow, NH, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at age 62.

Larry was born in Stoneham on October 23, 1961. Raised and educated in Wakefield, Larry graduated from Wakefield High School, Class of 1980. After graduation, Larry began his long working career at Lamb & Ritchie in Saugus as a sheet metal technician. In his youth, known as "Crazy Larry" he was always up for a new adventure. He enjoyed driving his Monte Carlo SS, riding his motorcycles and playing golf.

From a young age, Larry was introduced to a love of automobiles by his father. He took great pride in helping his Dad restore a 1963 Porsche Super 90, and continued maintaining the special vehicle throughout his life. He later purchased a 1986 Porsche 944S, attending numerous car shows throughout Massachusetts and New England.

Larry was the beloved son of Barbara (Breed) Day of Wakefield and the late Ronald Day. Loving brother of Ronellen Gagnon and her husband Eric of Wakefield and caring uncle of Danielle Gagnon. Also survived by many cousins and his dear friend, Scott Robertson and his wife Shannon of Plaistow, NH.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather in honor of Larry during Visiting Hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, on Monday, June 3 from 4-7pm, and again for his Funeral Service on Tuesday, June 4 celebrated at 10am. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
