Mr. Swanson was the former owner of L.L. Peavey Hardware Company in Newburyport, which was started by his grandfather over 100 years ago.Lawrence graduated from Governor Dummer Academy, 1947 and Boston University.For many years he was an avid photographer and musician.
Lawrence was the beloved husband of PriscillaM. (Vadeboncoeur)Swanson of Melrose and former husband of Elizabeth J. Swanson of Newbury.Father of Erica A. Swanson of Hull, Lawrence Lee Swanson Jr. and his wife Beth M. of Fremont, NH and Laurie Lee Vadeboncoeur of Malden.Grandfather of Carl Alexander Swanson of Hull and Lauren Marie Swanson of Fremont, NH. Private services will be held and interment will be in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.Gifts in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA01701 or to the American Lung Association, 5 Mountain Rd., Burlington, MA 01803.
