Mr. Lee C. Mudge, a resident of Haverhill and formerly of Warren, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, at age 70.

Lee was born on February 3, 1944 in Boston, one of five children of the late Everett and Ruth Mudge.He was raised in Medford where he graduated from Medford High School.He served briefly for his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era.Lee worked for many years as a surveyor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He lived in Warren for many years and had recently moved to Haverhill to be closer to his family.

Lee's passions in life included music, nature, and animals. He loved fishing, going to the beach, and skiing during the winter. He was a family man and loved getting together with his brother and sisters and their families.With a great sense of humor and fun loving nature, everyone loved being around him.He made many friends, and entertained people with his one liners.Lee was a very knowledgeable guy, had a special interest in history, enjoyed watching the news and would become animated quickly when it came to current events. He enjoyed living in Warren, where he considered himself to be living "in the country."He also loved visiting Plum Island with his family and relaxing on the beach.Most of all, Lee was a fun loving guy, and took special joy in being around his family and making everyone laugh.

Lee was the cherished son of the late Everett S. Mudge and Ruth J. (Munroe) Mudge.Beloved brother of June L. Halio and her husband Leonard of Westford, Carol J. Wilson of Nashua, NH, Diane R. Hessen of N. Andover, and David W. Mudge of Nashua, NH.Loving uncle of Sheryl H. Bauer and her husband Michael, Jeffrey D. Halio and his wife Teri, Megan L. Quinn and her husband Bill, Julie R. Wilson and her fiancé Brian Daly, Joshua M. Wilson, Amy B. Hessen, Mark E. Mudge, and Jason D. Mudge and his wife Kristin.Also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Relatives and friends will gather in honor and remembrance of Lee's life at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose for a visiting hour on Saturday, June 14 at 11AM, followed by his Funeral Service celebrated at 12 Noon.Interment in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
