Loren S. Fernald
Mr. Fernald was born April 1, 1919 in Nottingham, NH.He was the son of the late Frank Fernald and Mildred A. (Gile) Fernald.
Mr. Fernald was raised and educated in Melrose.He served in the U. S. Army Air Corp during WWII and for many years worked as a plant manager for Friends Beans in Malden. He was a handyman and electrician who alsoloved to garden and grow tomatoes.He will be remembered for his great sense of humor.
Loren Fernald was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy L. (Emery) Fernald with whom he shared 40 years of marriage.He was the devoted father of Charles "Denny" Fernald and his wife, Jo Ann of Charlotte, NC, Susan F. O'Brien and her husband, Dennis of Malden, and Linda F. Mayo of Wakefield. Mr Fernald was the brother of the late Denny Fernald, andgrandfather of Beth Hoos, Lori Fernald Khamala, Stephanie MacKinnon, Ryan O'Brien, Nicole Lamy and Brett Mayo.He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren and 2 nephews.
