Lorraine was born February 17, 1939 in Dorchester, a daughter of the late Luigi Gilomo and Lucia (Brogna) Gilomo.
Lorraine was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School. For many years, she worked as a secretary at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was a lunch mother for several years at the Lincoln School in Melrose and enjoyed knitting blankets for many children.She was active with the Cub Scouts, the Melrose Mental Health Association and the Danvers State Hospital.
Lorraine was the beloved wife of Joseph P. Canova with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Loving mother of Joseph M. Canova and his wife Diane C. of Marblehead, Stephen Canova and his wife Maureen of Stoneham and Paul Canova and his wife Kaire of Danvers. Dear sister of Elizabeth Cerasuolo of Medford and Concetta Aufiero of Melrose.Cherished grandmother of Jillian, Joseph, Stephen, Monica, Peter, Sarah, Russell and Richard. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
