Mrs. Louise (D'Antilio) Fiandaca, a resident of Melrose for over 60 years, passed away on Sunday evening October 18, 2009 at the Golden Living Center - The Elmhurst in Melrose.She was 93 years old.Mrs. Fiandaca was born on June 26, 1916 in Boston, one of three children to the late Arodante D'Antilio and Maria (Torri) D'Antilio. Louise was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1934.She worked for Transitron and as a clerk for Hoods Ice Cream Co. in Charlestown. For many years, Mrs. Fiandaca lived on Lynde Street next to the Washington School where she enjoyed watching the children play at the park.She also enjoyed watching the many holiday parades that past by her house over the years.She loved cooking and was well known for cooking her homemade pizzas.Louise was the former wife of the late Frank A. Fiandaca.Devoted mother of former Melrose Chief of Police Frank A. Fiandaca Frank A. Fiandaca and his wife Jackie of Peabody, Diane Bates of W. Palm Beach, FL, and Kenneth Fiandaca of Melrose.Dear sister of Walter D'Antilio of Wells, ME and Sue Dooley of Melrose.Cherished grandmother of Robin Fahey of Amesbury, Frank Allen Fiandaca of Palmyra, ME, Julie Ingrao of Chino Valley, AZ, Heather Carter of Peabody, Scott Healey of Peabody, and Ryan Allen of Salem.Also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, Friday, October 23 will be private.Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
