Louise (Burnett) Moreton
Louise was born on October 28, 1921, in Spartanburg, SC, one of three children of the late William M. Burnett and Elizabeth (Sitton) Burnett.She was raised and educated in Spartanburg and Bowling Springs, SC.She served as a Sergeant in the Women's Army Corps during World War II and married her late husband, William L. Moreton on March 19, 1944.They settled down in 1950 in Lynnfield to raise their family of 5 children where they lived for 47 years.
Louise worked as a teller for the Internal Revenue Service for 25 years in Andover, MA.She retired at age 75 and moved to South Carolina to be closer to her family in 1997.Louise will be remembered for her love of knitting, sewing, cooking, and her devotion to bible reading.She was a longtime member of the Morningside Baptist Church in Spartanburg, SC.
Louise was the beloved wife of the late William L. Moreton with whom she shared 45 years of marriage.Devoted mother of Beth Anderson and her fiancé Colonel William H. Bell (Ret.) of Southport, NC, Nancy Tilton and her husband Scott of Pepperell, William A. Moreton and his wife Debra Guinasso Moreton of Suwanee, GA, Donald T. Moreton and his wife Nancy Leo Moreton of Danvers, and John P. Moreton of Moore, SC.Dear sister of the late Frances Everhart and Beth McDowell.Cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends will honor and remember Louise's life by gathering for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Wednesday, April 4 from 4-8 PM and again on Thursday morning for her Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield.
