Lucien Dorné

Mr. Lucien Dorné died Thursday, February 15, 2018 in Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a year long struggle with brain cancer. He was 67.

Lucien was born January 15, 1951 in Gros-Morne, Haiti, a son of the late Lafrance and Agathe (Jean-Baptiste) Dorné. Lucien was raised and educated in Haiti. He graduated High School at Juvenat Sacred Heart inPort-au- Prince. Then he went to earn two bachelor degrees, first Graduated Law School with an emphasis in Economy at the " Faculté de Droit de Port-Au-Prince", andGraduated in Accounting at the " University of Julien Craan".He married Bernadette Belizaire in 1986 and then immigrated to the United States. He settled in Malden where they lived for twelve years before moving to Everett in 2010.

An intelligent and kind man, Lucien was working as a Lead Gastroenterologist Technician at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington for over thirty-one years before retiring in June 2017 due to his illness.

Lucien was a loving and dedicated man to his family and his church. A devoted husband and cherished father, he was also very active in his church, First Haitian Baptist Church in Dorchester where he served as deacon and taught Sunday School. Lucien knew the word of God and helped his community build a closer relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to spread His message. He welcomed the opportunity to preach at church and beyond.

He had a passion for writing and was a voracious reader. Travelling included frequent trips to his favorite destination, Savannah, Georgia. He had a keen eye and interest in art, especially impressionist artwork.Lucien was an avid Patriots Fan. He could tell you in a blink of an eye all the stats regarding his favorite football team.

In addition to his wife, Bernadette, he leaves their sons, McKinley Dorné and Pascal Dorné, all of Everett ; his siblings, Charles Dorné and his wife, Nelye of Chelmsford, Sylvan Dorné and his wife, Katie of Medford, Adelphin and his wife, Marguerite, Antonine Dorné of Medford; his in-laws, Elvyre Belizaire, Jean-Harry Belizaire, Jean-Claude Jeudi and Lawrence Belizaire, all of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Evelyn Belizaire and Fabiola Gimenez, both of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Josephine Belizaire-Jacques of Billerica; his cousin, Kathleen Belizaire of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; also survived by many nieces & nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Lucien's life by gathering for calling hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Friday, February 23rd from 4 - 8 p.m. A viewing will also take place on Saturday, February 24th from 9 - 10 a.m. in First Haitian Baptist Church, 397 Blue Hill Avenue, Boston followed by his Home Going Service celebrated at 10 a.m. Pastor Benjamin Cardichon will officiate. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, Everett.
