M. Alice (Wortman) Lyle, a 55 year resident of Wakefield and formerly of Melrose, died on Saturday morning July 7, 2012 at Meadowview Care and Rehabilitation Center in North Reading, at the age of 90.
Alice was born on May 3, 1922 in Malden, one of six children of the late William J. Wortman and Alice (Gordon) Wortman. She was raised and educated in Melrose andworked as an assembler for TransitronRadio in Wakefield for many yearsAlice was a longtime member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Stoneham.
Alice was the loving mother of Kenneth E. Lyle Jr. and his wife Bernadette of Wakefield, Richard P. Lyle of Lynn, Donna J. Turner and her husband John of Stoneham and Susan P. Lyle and her companion CM Jones of Merritt Island, FLDear sister of the late Gordon, Frederick, Russell, Glena Howes and Edna Pope. Cherished grandmother of Lee Walker of Wakefield, cherished great grandmother of Adam and Christopher and great great grandmother of Anthony Adam Walker. Former wife of the late husband Kenneth E. Lyle. Also survived by many nieces and nephews..
Relatives and friends will honor and remember Alice's life by gathering for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Wednesday, July 11 from 5-7 PM and again on Thursday morning for her Funeral Service at 10 AM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
