M. June Stafford
June Stafford was born in Lowell on February 4, 1931, a daughter of the late Francis X. Horan and Janet (MacLeod) Horan.
June was raised in Roxbury and Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School.She and her husband the late Bob Stafford moved to Melrose where they raised their children.For many years, she worked in the cafeteria at Melrose Jr. High School until pursuing her lifelong goal of becoming a nurse. Following her educational training, Mrs. Stafford worked as a Patient Care Technician at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
Mrs. Stafford loved puzzles, especially crossword and jigsaw.She enjoyed being around her family and loved taking care of her grandchildren.She was a big fan of Foxwoods, enjoyed playing cards, and loved the beach.
M. June Stafford was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. "Bob" Stafford with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.Devoted mother of Jeanne R. Stafford of Malden, Scott D. Stafford and his wife Joanne of Wilmington, Dana A. Stafford of Londonderry, NH, the late Lee M. McCann and her husband Barry of Melrose, and the late Wayne R. Stafford.Dear sister of Donald Coit of Gilmanton, NH, and the late Helen Moore and Jean Pidgeon.Cherished grandmother of Holly Acosta, Kristy Foote, Amanda Penza, Danielle Stafford, Christopher Stafford, Melissa Stafford, and Calvin Stafford.Also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Saturday, February 5 at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8 PM.Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.Gifts in June's memory may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1 Bulfinch Pl, Boston, MA 02114.
