Mrs. Mabel E. (Williams) Orrall, a longtime resident of Lynnfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at North Shore Medical Center - Salem Hospital, at the age of 84.
Mabel was born in Winthrop on May 8, 1928, the daughter of the late Frederick M. Williams and Gertie Mae (Annis) Williams.She was raised in Winthrop, and graduated from Winthrop High School.She married Roy E. Orrall on May 15, 1949 and settled in Lynnfield to raise a family.In her youth, she enjoyed figure skating, was a cheerleader and a member of Rainbow Girls.
Mabel was a woman of strong faith, devoted both to her family and to her friends.She was an active and dedicated member of the Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and a Youth Counselor.After caring for her children and seeing them grow up, she worked for many years as a Travel Agent.
Mabel was a longtime member of the Lynnfield Spotlighters, and loved the many friends she made.She enjoyed spending time with her friends, playing bridge, and always kept in touch with those close to her.Later in life, she picked up golf, learned to ski, and always enjoyed traveling.She and Roy enjoyed spending the winters in Naples, FL, and the summers in Wolfeboro, NH.They also enjoyed vacationing in Bermuda.
She was the beloved wife of Roy E. Orrall with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.Devoted mother of John F. Orrall and his wife Eileen Smith of Winchester, Robert E. Orrall and his wife Christine Leverone Orrall of Nashville, TN, and Mark W. Orrall and his wife Marit Naumann of Asker, Norway.Cherished grandmother of Avery E. Orrall of Winchester, Jake L. Orrall, Jamin W. Orrall, Justine L. Orrall, all of Nashville, TN, Elsa Naumann, Jonathan Orrall, Zakarias Orrall, and Carl Orrall, all of Asker, Norway.
Relatives and friends will honor and remember Mabel's life by gathering for visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Friday, July 27 from 4-8 PM and for her Funeral Service at the Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church, 273 Vernon St., Wakefield celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 AM.Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield.Gifts in memory of Mabel may be made the Mabel Orrall Memorial Fund at the Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church.
