Mafalda (Piersimoni) Cambiotti, resident of Wakefield, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.She was 95.
Born in Keystone, Pennsylvania on October 11, 1925, she is a daughter of the late Concetta (Equinozzi) Piersmoni and step-daughter of the late Americo Piersmoni. She grew up in Hudson, Plains, Pennsylvania and graduated from Plains High School.When she was 14, she went to work in a garment factory to support the war effort.She felt it her duty to be a part of such a big undertaking and was proud of her role in helping the Allies win.
Mafalda met and later married her beloved Quinto and spent many wonderful years together.Mafalda and Quinto later moved to Connecticut to raise their family.She continued to work as a garment worker for several years until they moved.She then went to work for Sikorsky Aircraft Company, a job she loved, and worked there for over 20 years, making many friends along the way.
First in her life though was her beloved family.She adored her husband and daughter Melissa.She was exceptionally active in the lives of her daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.She always said that it was being around her family that kept her so young.
She loved having family gatherings where she could wow with her cooking and baking.Also a fan of picnic's, she was considered a "picnic purist" making sure she brought the proper tablecloth and fine china to enjoy her excellent food on.Mafalda's other interests include traveling throughout the United States, with her favorite place being Hawaii, and gardening with her late husband.
Mafalda's warmth, love of family and life, kindness, and generosity will be missed by all blessed to know and love her.
Mafalda was the beloved wife of the late Quinto Cambiotti.Devoted mother of Melissa Wilson of Wakefield.Proud grandmother of Matthew Wilson and his wife Melissa, Samantha Wilson and her husband Adam Conrad, and Heather Wilson.Cherished great grandmother of Kalvin, Grace, Lili, and Mallory.
Services for Mafalda will remain private at this time.Interment at Lithuanian Independent Cemetery in West Wyoming, Pennsylvania.
