Marc K. Jackson, of Melrose, passed away after a courageous 8 ½ year battle with brain cancer on Tuesday, May 21st 2013 at his home surrounded by the love of his family.Marc was only 35 years old.
Marc was born on October 25, 1977 in Melrose.He attended Melrose schools and graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1996, and from UMASS-Amherst in 2000.Upon graduation, Marc began his 13-year career in banking at Investors Bank and Trust, later known as State Street Bank where he was a Vice President.Marc was a huge Boston sports fan, and loved hockey.Proud of his Irish heritage, he loved Notre Dame Football and Celtic Football Club.At 6'8" Marc was the center for the MHS basketball team. He also had a deep passion for golf; he loved the experience of playing new courses nationwide.
Marc was known for his great sense of humor, quick wit, and his distinct deep voice was his trademark.Marc was deeply devoted to his family, and traveling across the US and Europe.He was fiercely loyal to everyone, especially his family and friends.He was the proud Commissioner of their Fantasy Football League and enjoyed the camaraderie and smack-talk that came with it.
He was strong-willed, independent, and never complained. He continued to watch out for his family and friends until the end. He was an outstanding uncle to his sister's daughters as well as their dog Wally. His love for them was obvious to all who knew him.
He possessed a natural strength that continually amazed everyone.He loved nothing more than bringing people laughter and joy, his generosity knew no bounds and everyone is better off for having known him.
Marc will be lovingly remembered as the cherished and loving son of Kenneth A. and Carol A. (Eldard) Jackson of Melrose.Devoted brother of Kari L. Bonds and her husband Michael of Ballston Spa, NY.Amazing uncle of Allison and Brianna Bonds of Ballston Spa, NY.Beloved nephew of Richard Eldard and his wife Robyn of Valrico, FL, John Eldard and his wife Marge of Orem, UT, Michael Eldard and his wife Debra of Tualatin, OR, Suzanne Pendleton and her husband Craig of W. Jordan, UT, Roger Eldard of TX, Barbara Jackson of MA, Robert Fallon and his wife Debbie of Duxbury, and the late Robert Eldard and his wife Linda of Colorado Springs, CO.Marc is also lovingly survived by many cousins, and many great friends.
Relatives and friends will gather in honor and remembrance of Marc's life during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Thursday, May 30 from 4-8 PM, and again on Friday morning at 9 AM before leaving in procession to the Church of the Incarnation, 429 Upham St., Melrose where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM.Interment will follow at Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
