Mrs. Margaret Ann (Connor) Muldowney, of Wakefield and formerly a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully at home with her family on Thursday, February 11, 2016.

Margaret was born in Roscommon, Ireland, one of eight children of the late Michael and Margaret (Killian) Connor. At age 20, Margaret came to the United States. She was married on June 13, 1953 and settled with her husband Michael in Melrose. Margaret remained at home to raise her 7 children where she and Michael lived for over 50 years until moving to Wakefield recently.

Margaret was a devoted family woman who loved holidays and get-togethers surrounded by family. She loved soaking up the sun during family vacations on Cape Cod for many years. At home in Melrose, she enjoyed bowling, doing ceramics, playing bingo and was a devoted parishioner of Incarnation Church. She was proud of her Irish heritage and remained in contact with her family in Ireland. Her family will cherish all the wonderful memories they have and her love will remain in their hearts forever.

Margaret was the beloved wife of Michael J. Muldowney with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. Devoted mother of Michael Joseph and his wife Barbara of Virginia, James of Gloucester, Linda and her husband Richard Galatas of Wakefield, Brian and his wife Celine of Newbury, Mark of Stoneham, Robert of California, and the late Jack Muldowney.Dear sister of Bridget Deery of NY, Jane Brennan of Ireland, and the late Lil Dray, Theresa Gannon, Tom Connor, Tim Connor, and Michael Connor.Cherished grandmother of Matthew, Alana, Kaitlyn, Megan, and Brendan.Also survived by many nieces & nephews.

Relatives and friends will gather in honor of Margaret's life during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose, on Monday, Feb 15, from 4-8pm, and again on Tuesday morning at 9am before leaving in procession to St. Joseph's Church, 173 Albion St, Wakefield for her Funeral Mass celebrated at 10am. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Gifts in Margaret's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
