Margaret H. Sargent
Mrs. Sargent was born in Everett, August 2, 1911, daughter of the late Edward F. Ratcliffe and Annie E. (Rogers) Ratcliffe.
She was a lifelong resident of Melrose. She was the oldest living member of the Melrose Highlands Congregational Church and a member of the Women's Guild. For many years, she worked as a bookkeeper at Lawson Machine and Tool Company in Malden. She was an avid sports fan especially the Red Sox and Bruins and enjoyed reading.
Margaret was the beloved wife for 35 years to the late James D. Sargent. Loving mother of Wayne M. Sargent and his wife, Carol A. of Salem, NH, Beverly R. Heald and her husband James A. of ME, Gordon E. Sargent and his wife Mary F., and Carol J. Sargent all of Wakefield. Devoted sister of Mildred Grace of Reading, Ruth Wood of NC, and the late Edward "Ted" Ratcliffe, Harland Ratcliffe, Marion Moore, and Edith Ratcliffe. Loving grandmother of Jennifer A. Clapp and her husband Karl T., Derek W. Sargent, Jessica S. Sargent, and James R. Heald.
