Mrs. Margaret "Peg" (Nice) Waystack, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully in her 97th year while at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, February 2, 2011.
Mrs. Waystack was born on June 23, 1913, a daughter of the late Clay A. Nice and Elizabeth (Rupprecht) Nice.
She was raised in Baltimore, Maryland where she graduated from Eastern High School and Towson State College.She moved to Melrose with her late husband Charles J. Waystack to start a family.Peg worked for Malden Public Schools as an elementary school teacher for 40 years.After 28 years working at Forestdale Elementary School, she retired from teaching. Mrs. Waystack was a member of the Malden Teachers Association, Melrose Women's Club, Melrose Community Associates and a longtime member of Trinity Church.
Margaret, affectionately known as Peg, was the beloved wife of the late Charles J. Waystack with whom she shared 39 years of marriage.Devoted mother of Charles "Chuck" Waystack and his wife Leslie A. Waystack of Melrose.Dear sister of the late Clay Nice and Deeley Nice.Cherished grandmother of Kerri A. Waystack of Melrose.Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service at Trinity Church, 131 W. Emerson St, Melrose, Monday, February 7 at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.Visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St, Melrose on Sunday 2-6 PM.Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
