Maria M.A. (Schlee) Dinjian
A native of Germany, Maria was born in Bamberg on June 22, 1937, daughter of the late Wilhem and Paula (Kreuzpointner) Schlee. She immigrated to the United States in 1958 and raised her family of two children with her late husband Bob in Reading.
Maria filled her life with her family, friends, and neighbors. With an open door, she openly invited all to enjoy the warmth and love of her home as the unofficial "mom" in the neighborhood. Helpful and kind, she was always willing to read to children she looked after and took several exchange students into her home.
Maria maintained a schedule full of activities including gardening, playing cards, taking long walks, doing puzzles, sewing, crocheting, volunteering, and swimming every week. A young soul, Maria also played the lute when she was younger, and loved dancing and singing opera around the house.
True to her German roots which she held dear, Maria was physically and mentally strong. As the proud matriarch of the family, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, and enjoyed talking to everyone and anyone. Through her open heart and loyal nature, Maria endeared herself to many longtime friends. She will be deeply missed, but always lovingly remembered.
Maria was the beloved wife of the late Robert A. Dinjian with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. Devoted mother of Paula A. Adams and her husband Skip of Saugus, and Mark A. Dinjian and his wife Marilyn of Reading. Cherished grandmother of Ashley Chase and her husband Thomas, and Chelsey Adams and her partner Tomas Avelar, all of Saugus, and the late Shawn Dinjian.Proud great-grandmother of Benjamin.
