Mrs. Marjorie E. (Gilbert) Thayer of Stoneham died Friday, May 28, 2004 at her home after an extendedillness.
Mrs. Thayer was born February 26, 1930 in Medford, MA,daughter of the late Harry A. Gilbert and Eula H. (Perkins) Gilbert.
Mrs. Thayer was a 50 year resident of Stoneham. Marjorie was a graduate of Melrose High School class of 1948 and Westbrook College class of 1950. She was a long time member of the First Congregational Church of Melrose and a member of the Phi Theta Xi, Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Auxillary. She was also a volunteer in the Hospital gift shop for 22 years.She was active with her boys in Cub Scouts, pack 551.She was also a member of Bellevue Golf Club.
Marjorie was the wife of Donald F. Thayer.Mother of Douglas G. Thayer and his wife Jane G. of Wakefield, Brian J. Thayer and his wife Martha T. of Litchfield, NH and Stephen D. Thayer and his wife Megan L. of Salem, NH.Sister of the late Howard H. Gilbert.Grandmother of Candice M., Mark D., Laura T., Elizabeth E., Alison E., Emily L. and Katelyn D. Thayer. Funeral service at the First Congregational Church, 121 West Foster St., Melrose Wednesday, June 2 2004 at 11 AM.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE, Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Gifts in her memory may be made to the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, Development Office, 585 Lebanon Street, Melrose, MA 02176.
Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose, MA. In honor of Marjorie E. Thayer theThayer and Associates Office will be closed on Wednesday, June 2, 2004. Arrangements by Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St. Melrose.
