Mrs. Mary L. (Renda) D'Arcangelo of Melrose formerly of the North End of Boston, died Monday
May 31, 2004 at the Epoch Senior Health Center in Melrose.
Mrs. D'Arcangelo was born April 3, 1930 in Boston, MA, daughter of the late John Renda and Concetta (Beninati) Renda.
Mrs. D'Arcangelo had lived in Melrose for the past 32 yearspreviously residing in the North End of Boston. Mary worked with E. T. Slattery's for many years and was married for 54 years.
She was a free lance Artist who volunteered teaching art classes in the Melrose Public Schools. She was a member of the Sons of Italy and was involved with Melrose Girl Scouts.She was a Pop Warner Cheerleader Coach.She also taught CCD classes in her home.
Mary was the wife of Anthony J. D'Arcangelo retired 1st Assistant clerk of the Appellate Tax Board Commonwealth of MA and former Alderman for the City of Melrose. Mother of Stephen V. D'Arcangelo of Melrose, Michael D'Arcangelo of Amesbury, Maria D'Arcangelo-Lapides of CA and David D'Arcangelo of Malden. Sister of Frank Renda of Florida and the late Josephine DeBenedictis and Jenny Fernlund.Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St. Melrose Friday, June 4 at 10 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church (corner of Myrtle and Herbert Street) Melrose at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Wednesday 6-8 PM and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9.
